Connect Appointments is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for a short-term contract based at a large manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Bathgate.
Our client is part of a globally recognised agricultural and food production group, operating a large, well-established production facility in the area.
What’s on offer?
- Short-term temporary contract, approximately 2 to 3 months
- Rotating shifts of 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm and 10pm to 6am
- £18.47 per hour, rising to £20.69 per hour with shift allowance
- Holiday cover may also be required
Please note: Own transport is essential due to the location of the site. Initial training will be carried out on day shift.
As a Mechanical Fitter, your duties will include:
- Carrying out equipment repairs and servicing in accordance with approved maintenance schedules
- Changing pumps and gearboxes
- Repairing conveyors and elevators
- Clearing blockages and troubleshooting mechanical faults
- Some welding may be required – full training provided
To be considered as a Mechanical Fitter, you will need:
- A mechanical qualification such as an NVQ, or equivalent proven experience
- Previous mechanical fitting experience with knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
