Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for a Forklift Driver to join and strengthen our client’s existing team in Newton Aycliffe. Our client is a local recycling company primarily dealing with scrap metal, and who’re looking to bring on an experienced FLT Driver like yourself.
Working as a Forklift Driver:
- Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm
- Paid weekly at £12.75 per hour
Your main duties and responsibilities a FLT Driver will involve:
- Carrying out manual procedures, include manual lifting
- Loading and off-loading of scrap metal often weighing 5 to 6 tonne
- Preparing trailers for loading and transport; ensuring trailers are secured
- Ensuring paperwork is completed and verified
- Communication with managers, supervisors and stock control team
- General warehouse duties and housekeeping
To be successful in this Forklift Driver position, you will ideally have a C2 counterbalance license, but C1 applicants will be considered.
Combined with previous experience operating a forklift in a fast-paced environment; with a good understanding of FLT and logistics operations; plus a valid driving license.
