Connect Appointments is recruiting a Machine Operative to join an established steel manufacturing business based in Cumbernauld.
Our client manufactures steel fencing and gate components, offering a Monday to Thursday working week with three-day weekends and a competitive salary.
What’s on offer?
- Full-time ongoing position
- Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm
- £16 to £17 per hour (dependent on experience)
As a Machine Operative, your duties will include:
- Operating power presses, brake presses, rolling mills and drilling machines to produce steel fencing and gate components
- Maintaining machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines
- Conducting routine inspections to identify faults or defects
- Taking accurate measurements and making adjustments as required
- Reading and interpreting basic technical drawings and specifications
To be considered as a Machine Operative, you will need:
- Previous experience operating power presses, brake press machines or similar machinery
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role
- A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work
