Connect Appointments is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for a temporary position with a large, well-established timber processing and manufacturing business based in Livingston.
Our client is one of the UK’s largest companies in their sector, operating across multiple sites nationwide with a strong reputation for quality and progressive manufacturing practices.
What’s on offer?
- Choice of shift – 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm
- £19.63 per hour (PAYE) or £24 per hour (CIS)
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance across site
- Working on pumps, compressors, mechanical drivers, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Maintaining and supporting fast-moving conveyor systems
- Applying basic 3-phase electrical knowledge where required
- Adhering to all site health and safety requirements at all times
The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have:
- A recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
- A solid background in site maintenance within a heavy manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with fast-moving conveyor systems
- Basic 3-phase electrical experience (preferred but not essential)
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
