What’s on offer?
- Full-time temporary position – 40 hours per week
- Working 5 days out of 7, from 6am to 3pm – on a 6-week revolving rota
- Paid at £12.71 p/hour
Working as a Warehouse Operative, your duties will include but not limited to:
- Ensuing lines are correctly set up at the start of shift, with appropriate material positioned safely
- Collecting, inspecting, and using scanners, pallet trucks, knives, MHE, printers, and computer equipment in accordance with training, health & safety regulations, and cleaning requirements, reporting any faults immediately
- Break down pallets to compliant heights, lift and move boxes within manual handling guidelines, and position produce within easy reach of packing stations to support efficient production
- Selecting, preparing, packing, labelling, and sealing fruit according to customer specifications (count, weight, colour, origin, etc.), meeting SMVs and quality standards at all times
- Scanning correct fruit to the correct works order, confirm pallet counts with supervision, print, check, and apply labels accurately, ensuring all barcodes, codes, dates, and origins meet customer requirements
- Following checking procedures, segregate rejected fruit appropriately, control excess and waste labels, minimise ribbon and label waste, and escalate any errors or risks immediately to management
- Working closely with Line Supervisors, Production Management, Ripening, QA, Sales Admin, and Warehouse teams to minimise downtime, manage changes, and ensure continuity of production
- Accurately complete all paperwork, maintain print room security, manage label stock levels, and assist with any other tasks within competence to support operational needs
To be successful in this Warehouse Operative role, you will ideally have previous experience working in a production environment – with knowledge of fresh produce, and H&S procedures advantageous.
Other key skills, traits and experience include:
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Experience of working in a busy working environment
- A level of computer literacy
- Pallet truck training will be provided
