Working as a Manual Machinist you will be responsible for:
- Operating a range of manual machining equipment within the machine shop
- Producing and finishing high-quality components to engineering tolerances
- Reading and working from detailed mechanical drawings
- Inspecting finished items using appropriate measuring tools
- Cleaning and maintaining machinery
- Reporting any equipment faults or production issues to Supervisors
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Conventional Machinist, Manual Turner, Manual Miller or similar
- Hands-on machining skills gained within an engineering or manufacturing machine shop
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed mechanical drawings
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience operating a manual horizontal boring machine – beneficial but not essential
